First Mark of the Lamb

Mar 23, 2024 | Marks of the Lamb

In Genesis 3:6-7, Adam sinned by disobeying God (Cf. 2:16-17) and mankind fell into Satan’s evil clutch with no hope of deliverance! (Cf. John 8:44; 1 John 3:8; Act 13:10) The First Mark of the Lamb is found in Genesis 3:15 where God gives great hope of the coming Messiah, the Lamb of God to save people from their sins. Isaiah 7:14; 9:2, 6-7 tells of the promised Savior. (Cf. John 3:16-17; Luke 2 :8-18; 1 John 4:9-11) Battles lines were drawn between Satan and mankind.

The Word of God came as the babe in Bethlehem, grew up, yet without sin. (John 1:1-4, 14; Hebrews 1:3-12; 4:15) Jesus, the mystery of God, was hidden for generations, but now revealed to His saints. (Colossians 1:13, 26-27) God sent Jesus to provide an acceptable sacrifice for sin, for those who receive Him. (Hebrews 2:9) Christ’s blood shed on the Cross satisfied God’s holiness, establishing peace through His Covenant. (Ephesians 2:13-16; Revelation 12:10-11; cf. Leviticus 17:11) Since Jesus entered Heaven with His blood, He obtained eternal redemption for us. In Hebrews 12:1-4, we are to run with endurance the race of faith and look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Heb. 9:11-12, 14-15, 24, 26b, 28) Jesus is our hope and our soul’s anchor. (Heb. 6:18b-19)

God’s “abundant mercy has given us a Living Hope through Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible…undefiled…that does not fade away, reserved in heaven…who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (1 Peter 1:3-5) “Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29; cf. 4:42b; 16:33) Faith in Jesus triumphs in this world. (Romans 5:1-2, 5)

What do we have in the Lord Jesus Christ?
(Colossians 1:13-23; 2:6-7, 9-15; 3:1-16; Ephesians 1:3-14, 17-23; Titus 3:5-7; John 3:1-3; 13-21; cf. Isaiah 53:5-6; 40:10-11)
How do we have certainty of Christ’s victory over Satan, sin, and world?
(1 Corinthians 15:1-2, 20-23, 50-58; 16:13; Romans 5-6; Ephesians 2:14-18; cf. Isaiah 9:6-7;  2 Corinthians 2:14-16)
