SIXTH SPIRITUAL MIRACLE IN JESUS

SIXTH SPIRITUAL MIRACLE IN JESUS–Ephesians 1:9What does God want us to be in this world?

In Ephesians 1:9 God discloses, “having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself…” In Mark 4:11, mystery is a truth that was formerly written in the Old Testament, but its meaning was not revealed until the New Testament, when Jesus came to earth. In the Old Testament, the people were under the Law, which was intended to show them that they needed a Savior outside of themselves, because it was impossible to keep the Law through works. (Cf. Ephesians 2:4-10) Many places in the Old Testament, God revealed a coming Messiah. (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7; Micah 5:2-5; Zechariah 9:9) In Matthew 1:18-24, Jesus’ conception and birth were miraculous. Mary, His mother, was a virgin and the angel of God appeared to her and said that she would have a baby boy, the Holy One of Israel, the Son of God. The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you; therefore…that Holy One of Israel who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” (Cf. Luke 1:26-38)

Jesus confirmed in Mark 14:61-62, that He was and is the coming Messiah as well as the Son of David. (Mark 10:47-52; Matthew 21:9, 15-16) In Acts 2:36, Jesus was affirmed as Lord (Boss) and Christ after His resurrection, the long-awaited Messiah. In Matthew 16:16, Peter called Jesus the Christ and the Son of the living God. Now in these last days since His death, burial, and resurrection, His ministry of reconciliation was given to the Church to reveal to the world who God is through Jesus! (1 Corinthians 2:7-16; 2 Corinthians 4:1-6; 5:18-21; cf. Matthew 11:25-27

What is the mystery in the Old Testament that is revealed in the New Testament?
Ephesians 3:1-12; Romans 11:25-36; 16:25-27; 2 Timothy 1:8-13; 1 Corinthians 1:21—2:5; Romans 8:28-39.

What does “True Spiritual Growth” require?

1) Develop a mind centered on Christ and the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:7-16; Matthew 11:28-30; 5:3-12; John 6:35-37, 48-51; Galatians 5:16-18, 22-25; Romans 8:12-18.
2) Develop Spiritual Wisdom by comparing Scripture with Scripture
Isaiah 40:8, 28-31; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Peter 1:2-11.
