Fourth Mark of the Lamb

Mar 26, 2024 | Marks of the Lamb

The Fourth Mark of the Lamb is in Matthew 22:36-40. God says, “…You shall love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, and with ALL your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself…” All that the Bible teaches can be summed up in this! In Colossians 3:2-4 Godreveals that we must “set our minds on things above,” because we have died (to self and the world) and “our life is hidden with Christ in God. Is Christ your life? (Cf. Jeremiah 9:23-24; John 5:44) When Christ who is your life appears…you shall appear with Him in glory.” (John 17:3; Isaiah 53:11; cf. Deuteronomy 6:4-9) Our love of life should not consist of worldly things, but of knowing, loving, and obeying God! (Luke 12:15, 23, 34) God can be defined in one word—LOVE! (1 John 4:7-11; cf. 2:3-11; 3:10-18)

God wants us to, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things (in life) will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:19-33) God must take first place in our life. (John 15:4-5, 7-8, 10, 12-14, 16; cf. Exodus 20:3-6) To seek His kingdom and righteousness means to turn to God first for help, know what God desires for you, pattern your life like Jesus, serve and obey Him by knowing His Word! (1 John 3:22-24) God means for us to be a servant

(Matthew 20:26-28) We live in a materialistic society where many chase after wealth but God says that He must have first place! (2 Corinthians 6:2; Isaiah 55:6-7) God says that if we truly love God and our neighbor, we will naturally keep His commandments.

What is one of the most needful concepts in Christianity that we cannot miss—How should we treat our “neighbor?”

Luke 10:27-37; James 2:8-9, 12-13; Ephesians 4:25—5:1; Galatians 5:13-25; Romans 13:8-14; 15:1-7; Mark 10:45; cf. 1 John 4:20-21; cf. Zechariah 8:16-17a;

Are our works after salvation, “Self-inspired” or “Spirit-led?”

(Romans 8:14; Matthew 7:21-27; cf. 25: 31-46; John 15:1-17; cf. Jeremiah 17:9-10)
