In Matthew 5:9 Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
We are to show the fruit of God’s Spirit by making peace with others (Romans 5:1-5) Galatians 5:22-25; cf. Romans 5:1-5; Luke 1:76-79). In John 14:27, Jesus came to bring peace, made peace through the blood of His Cross, and calls us to be peacemakers, which is God’s family business that everyone needs to share.
Inward peace is a sure sign that we have accepted our reconciliation or settlement of peace with our Father. IF you do not have inward peace, you do not know God as His child. Peace is a result of a truly forgiven heart, now filled with Christ’s Spirit! (Cf. Colossians 3:12-16).
There are two major ways to get peace in our heart! 1) By receiving Jesus Christ as our Savior and Boss of our life! (John 1:1-18, esp. 12) Forgiveness and reconciliation are made possible through Christ who forgave us (Cf. Luke 23:34; Colossians 1:13-23). Forgiveness is a choice—a decision to no longer hold an offense against another person or group. (2 Corinthians 7:9-10; cf. 1 Cor.12:21-26); 2) Implant the Word of God in our inner being is a sure way to find peace (James 1:21-27; Proverbs 3:1-6; 2:1-12). In Psalm 119:165 God tells us, “Great peace have those who love Your Law (Bible).” “You (God) will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You.” (Isaiah 26:3; 33:17-18; cf. Romans 14:17) In Romans 8:6, 14, God tells us, “For to be carnally (worldly) minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and PEACE…For those who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God!”
